This is pretty disjointed; there was lots of incongruent info and I did it in three different steps due to having forgotten my notes, then only using half of them, then all of them finally :) so bear with lack of organization please!
Please yell re any corrections, etc...
In attendance: Elaine, Sherri, Paula, 2 Susans
Scott was away in VA so he and Sara (sp?) could pick up their new baby!! ( ___hopefully/knock wood___)
We practiced:
- Joy to the World (for 2/8) - lyrics will be in service bulletin so cong. can join in, (as they will of course want to)
- One Voice (for end of year service May/Jun?) - .............. Check out the video here; Sclay will be making an MP3 of this if anyone would like it (also I just remem'd I've been meaning to make one of our songlist CDs for Scott... one of these days!)
- Voice Still & Small (grey hymnal #391 - I've added it to our Repertoire Hymns page) - at the moment this is Sop 1 Clay, Sop 2 Sherri, Alto Chandler, Elaine
and Paula - up for adjustments as we get closer. Those singing it have
agreed to rehearse at least one other part so that we can rearrange if
necessary.
Susan Chandler is pretty sure she will be able to sing "Be Ye Lamps" Sunday 2/1. Susan Clay is standing by just in case - either way we'll cover it.

Idea: What the world needs now – sometime in the next few months
as faux flash mob if possible – for Andi - maybe try to get some people who keep talking about wanting to take part in choir - also it could be a way for those who are new to the cong. and are interested in choir to get in on something and see how they like it...
We asked Elaine if she could post a brief plan on the blog prior to each rehearsal - we want to start trying to cut down on wasted time. This way everyone will have the music handy, can refresh their memories on it before coming in if they want/need, and we can get more done, esp. in these days of our having only 5 people and therefore not being as flexible as we were when we were 8-9 people... Also we'll budget our time carefully at rehearsal and try to stay to a fixed schedule as much as possible.
Also a plan like this will help us get back to our repeatedly-tried goal of always rehearsing a repertoire piece or two each rehearsal, among other things. Elaine will plan for time for new pieces as well as upcoming. Most likely we will just be hitting 4-5 pieces total. (Some of this is from a phone convo with Elaine this morning, in case some of this seems like new news to those who were there last night.)
In view of this everyone is asked please to be on time if at all humanly possible. We will have announcements/share time early on like we used to and then after that dig in - if you miss any info in announcements please be prepared to consult the blog for the rehearsal notes and/or grab someone after rehearsal who is not in a hurry to get home and they can perhaps recap anything you missed.
Of course please warm up in your vehicle if you are late, too.
Last but not at all least:
radio show/spring show early June??
Paula and Jorge will be here for sure end May/first week of Jun so yay plus long enough off hopefully to be able to bring it off without too much rush… might try to recruit some of those who have expressed an interest in the past or who joined us for other things (Heidi etc)
Elaine will send Doodle poll...
Misc.
--Paula will be gone all of Feb. and the first part of March
