Singing for Bob

Paula says he will not be in Anderson.  He will be either home,  which is behind Publix  or at the Seneca Hospice.
390 Keowee School Rd, Seneca, SC 29672
(864) 882-8940
More details as we know them.

Sherri is making song sheets and bringing her keyboard.

Last night we made this list of songs:

  1. All God's Critters Got  a Place...
  2. Kyrie
  3. Benedictus
  4. Spirit of Life-  # 123 from hymnal.  I will bring copies so we don't have to lug heavy books.

  1. Oklahoma
  2. Oh What  A Beautiful Morning

Maybe others such as
76 Trombones
Do Re Mi

Depending on what lyric sheets Sherri makes up and of course , how Bob is feeling.    As Paula mentioned,  be prepared to see a very ill man....

This is such meaningful work we are doing.
Thank you everybody.

Choir Reminders and a question

Hi  Everyone

Hey Jay,  did you get this?

We are planning to sing Wake Up on Nov 8.  We have just one more rehearsal before then.   If anyone wants to  and has time to do extra rehearsals, let me know.    If we don't feel ready we can substitute something else- such as the duet Susan and Sara were playing with a few weeks ago from the green hymnal.

We are planning to sing  Kyrie Nov 15.  That's two more rehearsals away.    Same caveat as above although I m not sure what else we  can substitute.

No rehearsal November 23
I am visiting my daughter in Seattle.
Question:  do people want to meet  without me and  work on songs for the soiree with Paula that night?

Upcoming Performances

HI,

Please  look for the doodle poll and fill out as soon as you can.

Just wanted to put this on the blog easy to  get to:

We are  singing All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir this Sunday, October  18.    This is a Pick Up Choir date so everyone can sing,  even if you are not able to attend tonight  ( Scott can't make it tonight)  Plan to meet Sunday at 9: 45 am.

We are not singing October 25

We are singing  Nov  8  :  Wake Up My Spirit

We are singing Nov  15:  Kyrie

I think we are singing December 6.  This is the service about Pagans.  Susan Chandler will be choosing the music.

more info about the Alleluia

This is the  Alleluia I'm referring to.  It's the first one on  the page:
Here is the link again

Alleluia

William Boyce, arranged by Russell Robinson
Three-Part Mixed Voices a cappella with Optional Keyboard

If you scroll down to about the 12th one,  I'm also looking at  the Kyrie by Tucker Courtney.
Kyrie
Vicki Tucker Courtney
Three-Part Mixed Voices with Keyboard
Flowing lines passed from voice to voice and a warm, familiar harmonic framework make this setting of the standard Latin text easy to assimilate. This is an unusually sensitive piece that will be a beautiful choice for Concert and Festival use.

Welcome Back to We SING Tonight 6 pm

Hi!

I  hope everyone can come.

I mentioned to you the Note by Note series by Carl Fisher that gives you the score as well as links to sing along to.

Here's the first piece I propose.   Alleluia in 3 parts.
I will bring scores of the first 4 pages and if we all agree, will go ahead and purchase it.  You can hear it here:
http://2012choral.carlfischer.com/partbypart/3partmixed.htm

Please bring your calendars with you .  I'm hoping to sing August 30   ( I"d Like to Teach the World to Sing), and Sept  13  ( Give Light)
