ps the YouTube playlist ...

… has a fair amount of our repertoire/stand-by's on it too for rehearsing or modeling.

Partly for our new Susan and partly as a reminder to the rest of you

Don't forget the fun links in our blog sidebar. Specifically I wanted to mention for SW's benefit that the "UU Singin' Page" has links for a few of our most recent pieces and she could either listen or practice with them or…

Here's the link again for good measure and for access from you email copies:

I noticed that one of our earliest performances of "Heart of the Mother" is at the top; "I am Willing" and "Adiemus" aren't too far down either.

Notes from rehearsal 2/17, revisited

Republishing this so the links will be fixed in your email copies.

Belated happy bday to our Sherri Bo Berri! Hope it was great and hope you know how much we miss you!!

We missed Sara tonight who needed to be home with Jim. We hope all is well. And last but not least we all hope Paula is having a very nice stay south of the border!

Some slight changes in the singing plans…

3/30 we will plan to sing "I am Willing" - Jeff is interested in revisiting his solo, too
We might still sing hymn #172 "Siph'amandla"

4/12 - soirée - possibly we'll include Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love"

4/20 - Yonder Come Day - I think still with Pachelbel too but we didn't mention it tonight

5/11 - Heart of the Mother

Last week Sara and the two Susan C's practiced hymn #292 as a trio. Elaine asked Jeff if he would be interested in joining us to do the bass and he is indeed interested. We don't have this slated for a specific date.

I forgot to mention last week, there is a chance we will do the Cups song at some point in the future. Feast your eyes and ears if you don't know what this is:

If that's still beyond us we probably should just default to this. I'll help everyone with the French :)

Revised Performance Dates and Question from Terre for us

I emailed this to you all then realized I should have posted it here for ease of  reference.

I met with Terre this morning and we have these plans in the works, pending your availability. If possible we can sing more than this— this is just once a month.
DATES
The first 2 dates we already talked about, I think.  My head is in a bit  of a swirl with at the backs and forths that Terre and I did this morning.

Jan 26   Feb 16.  We are singing one song  on each  date.  It's up to us to decide which song will be on which date.  The songs to pick from are:

Drive Your Karma
All Will Be Well

March 30  Adiemus— maybe with drum??

April 20  Yonder Come Day  -  with congregation

May 11   Heart of the Mother— for Mother's Day

THE QUESTION to ponder

Terre wants to know how  UUFC can support She Sings.    Our worship budget has money for 3 outside speakers this year.  She'd like to use the budget for one of the 3 outside speakers to invite someone who  we'd find helpful/ inspiring. etc.  For example, the budget helped pay for Jewelsong to do a service.   She  is thinking along the  lines of her friend who did aramaic chanting— but she's open to ideas.  Pretty cool eh?   If you have ideas, please put on Blog so we can easily keep a list.

notes from rehearsal + return to brainstorming for the Soirée

1.
We'll sing Kosi R'vaya this Sunday as well as helping lead the congregation in hymn-of-the-month #1015 (aqua hymnal) "I can go on"

2.
Soirée is coming up in February. Stand by for exact date. (Susan W the Soirée was a UU auction item last year - hors-d'œuvres + intimate concert of sorts by She Sings)

Here's what we were thinking way last spring about the soirée (not firm, not comprehensive):

<<
Welcome  from Cabaret
Clay  Bewitched bothered and bewildered
Chandler   If I loved you
Sherri    Duets or trios  Adelaide’s Lament

Paula  Have Some Madera My Dear
               Faith Hope and Charity
He Aint Heavy He’s  My Brother  Susan Susan and Elaine

Blues riff   Sara and Sherri
>>

PLUS
Sara is interested in doing guitar solo

Please think of anything we could add. We'll continue brainstorming at rehearsals.
